Short history

I graduated from the Silesian University of Technology with a MSc in Computer Science. Afterwards, I joined the 'other side' of academia and have been researching and tutoring at this university since 1990. In 2003 I obtained a PhD from this university for my research in Transaction Management on Replicated Data. Currently, I am focused on studying eye-tracking technologies and I achieved the title of DSc in 2019 for my extensive work on Methods of Eye Movement Analysis with Particular Emphasis on its Dynamic Features

Additionally, I was a tutor at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology from 2003-2013. I also collaborated with the Catholic Youth Education Centre KANA in the preparation of courses for young people, teachers and the unemployed (2003-2010).

Professional Activities

I am a co-organizer of the International Conference on Man-Machine Interactions, organized in the Polish mountains every two years. Further details on the conference can be found here. We would be honoured to have you with us for the next edition.

As chair and co-chair, I have organized an invited session Intelligent Methods for Eye Movement Data Processing and Analysis at the 7th, 8th and 9th International KES Conference on Intelligent Decision Technologies.

Leisure

In my free time, I greatly enjoy watching professional tennis tournaments. If I have a few spare days, I often get out of the city for mountain hikes in the south of Poland. In winter I enjoy the snow under my skis and try to get at least a week of Alpine sun every winter. I love Agatha Christie books, jazz (check out Branford Marsalis) and live musicals (my favourite is The Phantom of the Opera enjoy! ).
